Winter Sunset at Kenrokuen

CHF 75.00

Walking through Kenrokuen one evening, for a split second only, I spotted a kingfisher. Perched on a tree branch in the heavily snow-blanketed garden, lit by the last purple-orange embers of the setting sun. It is the fleeting moment of “Evening Glow”. Print recognized with an Honourable Mention in Tokushima for AIMPE 2023. (cont’d below).

Description

“Winter Sunset at Kenrokuen”

(cont’d from above) I am currently working on a large series of paintings following the traditional “Eight Views” themes. The entire series is set in Kanazawa (Ishikawa Prefecture) in the winter season. In the winter of 2023 I went back to Ishikawa to find references for the outstanding views. I painted a number of studies and sketches during this stay, and this print is a reproduction of one of them.

This particular print was displayed in October 2023 at the world’s largest print show for works on washi, the AIMPE in Tokushima, Japan.

Fine art pigment print on Kozo washi, printed in Tokyo. A4 size paper 21 cm width x 29.7 cm height. Edition of 10. Personally stamped, signed and numbered by the artist in pencil.

The work sells as displayed on the image, without additional frame or accessories. All prints are wrapped in delicate washi and shipped plastic-free in a firm cardboard envelope. This work ships in 5-8 working days.
