Since 2021 you can experience ink painting directly with me. When I host a new solo exhibition or book launch event, I often include an ink painting workshop experience in the schedule. Always in combination with an artist talk on my favourite themes – ink painting, hand-bound books and japanese arts. On occasion, you can even watch me paint live from Tokyo for a global, virtual audience.
Specifically for the Altstadthaus, I designed a schedule that condenses all of the above into a regular experience following the cycle of the seasons. Looking forward to welcoming you in my Zurich neighbourhood!

Unwinding while enjoying the seasons in the old city.
Every quarter at Altstadthaus, ink painting artist and book author Mafalda Tenente brings a new element of Zurich’s nature to our attention, helping us distil its essential traits with ink on paper. Always using the traditional techniques of Japanese ink wash, which allow us to slow down and focus on the minor details of the changing seasons. Weather permitting, we will walk to a nearby garden for direct observation.

Standard Participation Fee: 90 CHF per person. Please sign up for each workshop individually.
These are small group sessions limited to 8 participants each. Minimum 4 participants per session.
Each session includes a 15-minute pause for tea.
Languages: German, English. All materials provided. All levels welcome.
Limited special rate offer for Kreis 1 or Swiss Japanese Society association members.
Note: The workshop confirmation will be issued by email to registered participants on the Wednesday before the event. If the minimum number of participants is not reached we will offer a refund of your registration, minus any applicable transactions fees. Cancellations received after Tuesday of the event week are not eligible for a refund.

Gemeinsam die Jahreszeiten in der Altstadt erleben!
Einmal pro Quartal entdecken wir mit Mafalda Tenente, einer Tuschemalerin und Buchautorin ein Element der Natur und halten dessen Besonderheiten in japanischer Tuschemalerei fest. Mit klassischen Techniken entschleunigen wir und fokussieren uns auf die feinen Details der Natur.
Bei schönem Wetter arbeiten wir Draussen.

Standard Gebühr: 90 CHF pro Person. Bitte melden Sie sich für jeden Workshop einzeln an.
Gruppengrösse: maximal 8 Personen, die Kurse werden ab 4 Personen durchgeführt.

Alle Materialien werden gestellt. Alle Niveaus sind willkommen. Sprachen: Deutsch, Englisch.
Für Mitglieder der «Kreis 1»-Vereine oder der Schweizerisch-Japanischen Gesellschaft wird ein ermässigter Preis angeboten.
Hinweis: Die Workshop-Bestätigung wird den angemeldeten Teilnehmern am Mittwoch vor der Veranstaltung per E-Mail zugesendet. Sollte die Mindestteilnehmerzahl nicht erreicht werden, wird die Anmeldegebühr abzüglich bereits entstandener Transaktionsgebühren zurückerstattet. Bei Stornierungen, die nach Dienstag vor der Veranstaltung eingehen, besteht kein Anspruch auf Rückerstattung.
