Coming Saturday I will be returning to Basel for a summer artist talk and ink painting session inspired by my latest book, “Lotus”.
The session will take place on Saturday August 24 at Hōmu, over on Gerbergässlein in Basel Old Town. We have two slots planned:
- 11 am to 1 pm (some seats available)
- 2 pm to 4 pm (fully booked)
In addition to the book full of lotus imagery, I will bring a couple of paintings executed strictly with brush pens. The goal is to demonstrate how anyone can create a finished ink painting piece outdoors with these portable tools, be it from a garden or trail.

I have yet to write a summary here of our very successful preview and launch of “Lotus” back in mid June. I hope to get this accomplished soon. It’s been a busy summer between Switzerland and Japan, a little of which you can see below. Thank you for your patience and support.
