While “Autumn in Japan” is currently touring Switzerland with The Most Beautiful Swiss Books exhibition, we are bringing the Japanese Autumn in ink to Basel.
From October 28 to November 25 I have prepared a special Autumn display of ink works and books for Hōmu, Japanisch Wohnen – the home of Japanese design in Basel.
This display will “travel” through Japan past and present in this beautiful season and bring to life its centuries-old connection between ink, nature and literary tradition.
On October 28 I will explore the connection above in an artist talk including excerpts from my latest book “Autumn in Japan”. This will be followed by an interactive demonstration of how I practice ink painting while traveling or exploring a location in the city.
