“Lotus” is up for the Volumes Awards. Vote for the book and join us on November 16-17 in Zurich.

What a year so far, time just seems to fly. It feels like it was only yesterday I was launching “Lotus” during Art Basel week, and now it is already time for Volumes Awards nominations and votes.

On November 16 and 17 I will be bringing the first edition of “Lotus” to Volumes Zurich, the international art book fair for independent publishers in Zurich. There will be a chance to hear more about Lotus at the fair’s Sofa Book Club schedule, but for now I would like to ask for your support by voting for the book here before November 12.

Also, this year in addition to my books and printed matter I will be showcasing printed matter from two artists who are based in Japan. More about that in an upcoming post. Don’t miss this special occasion. Meet me at Zentralwäscherei during both days of the Volumes Zurich fair – November 16 and 17.

Vote for “Lotus”

After the Fedrigoni Top Award submission, “Lotus” is now also up for the Volumes Awards. Have a look above at how a small group of people put together this illustrated mystery volume on washi and then click the highlighted link below to vote for our book.

Please remember to vote before November 12 and spread the link if you can. The public voting section of the Volumes Awards is a very competitive one, the difference between winning an award or not can be as little as a handful of votes.

The voting process will ask you to enter a valid email address. This is strictly for vote validation purposes, and that email address won’t be used for any other purpose.

Our activities at the Fair

In addition to being on the Volumes Awards Nominees table, “Lotus” will be the topic of a Sofa Book Club talk on Sunday November 17 at 3pm.

I will be reading a few excerpts of this fiction short story set in Zurich and talking about a couple of its meta qualities:

  • “Lotus” connection to my ongoing work as an artist
  • its connection and references to the tradition and role of illustrated artist books in Japan

The session is open, no registration needed. The book club space is quite small and crowded, so you might want to be there on time if you want to be close enough to listen in.
