Thank you to everyone who joined me at Volumes Zurich this weekend and to everyone who voted for “Lotus” at the Volumes Awards. The fair atmosphere is always a highlight for me, and this November edition was no different. Our guest corner from Japan featuring Kyoto-based street photographer Joe Keating and Kanazawa-based Nik van der Giesen’s series of Noto landscapes was much appreciated. We will definitely consider a guest corner again when making plans for 2025.
Together with “Lotus”, the “Winter Sunset at Kenrokuen” print on washi, recognized with an “Honorable Mention” in Japan in 2023 was a definite eye-catcher and conversation starter at the stand.
Here are a few highlights from the two days in images. Also that shot of our book on the awards candidate table, as I had promised.

A couple of additional notes:
Books stocks are now running quite low all-around, as you might see when browsing the fully updated online shop inventory. Having said that, I have just picked up a fresh stash of 2024 stamps for holiday shipping. A good fun mix as always. I am ready to ship that special gift order, whenever you are.
Although we did not bring home one of the awards, our book was in great company and the design competition marathon is not yet over.
Last week, “Lotus” was shortlisted by the jury for the Fedrigoni Top Award in 2025. There were nearly 350 book projects competing in the first round, so it is quite an honour to have made the cut for the second round.
A third book design competition submission was also completed last week. I will keep you posted on both competitions progress in early 2025. Keep your fingers crossed for our beautiful hand-bound volume.

If you are reading this after meeting me at the art book fair for the first time, don’t forget to have a look at the “Lotus” edition development diary and its “making of” video. The website is rich in content for all my books and art.
