Description
(cont’d from above)
This painting is based on my photographs from that moment in 2023. Every plum blossom has a different shape and ink wash depth to reflect the uniqueness of each delicate new blossom on its branches. Looking at this flower always brings to mind the poets and artists of days past. One of many classic poems dedicated to this beautiful flower reads:
Blossoms of the plum!
To whom am I to show them
unless it be to you –
you who alone can savor
color and fragrance alike?
君ならで
