This composition depicts a variety of cherry blossoms from the sato zakura (里桜) variety in monochrome ink washes only. A small square of intimate detail for your desk or a narrow wall space, for example. Small shikishi formats offer multiple possibilities for different types of spaces.
Japanese ink and watercolour on paper mounted on a small shikishi board (13.7 cm width x 12.2 cm height). The work is signed and stamped by the artist on the lower right corner of the composition.
