… sato zakura (里桜) cherry blossoms in Zurich bloom early. The returning chill of early spring winds sweeps them away almost immediately. Their season feels shorter than ever, there can be no hesitation in the brush strokes if we are to keep up with its new pace. A small square of fleeting beauty for your desk or a narrow wall space, for example, small shikishi formats offer multiple possibilities for different types of spaces.
Japanese ink and watercolour on paper mounted on a small shikishi board (13.7 cm width x 12.2 cm height). The work is signed and stamped by the artist on the lower right corner of the composition.
